CIVIL DEFENCE INFORMATION

MESSAGE FROM TAIRUA COMMUNITY RESPONSE GROUP

Members of the Tairua community response group have met this afternoon at the request of Civil Defence in preparation for Cyclone Gabrielle.

The Tairua Golf Club/Country Club is set up to be used as a Civil Defence Centre at a moments notice IF and when it is required.

(Please note we do not want public turning up here as if it is required this site will be used as an incident management centre)

Upon request - We have the Tairua Hall, St Francis house and Rugby club as evacuation points for anyone displaced by the storm. From there, we have the ability to triage accomodation suppliers. Keep up to date with official messaging from TCDC civil defence and metservice with what to expect and how to prepare. Please also help spread this information for those that do not use or have social media. For any emergencies relating to this weather event or anyone in Tairua that is in need of assistance please contact one of our Tairua Community response members;
